Pingzhen District, Administrative district in Taoyuan, Taiwan
Pingzhen District sits on hilly plateau terrain in central Taoyuan and comprises multiple villages and residential areas. The area is connected by a network of roads and local pathways that link different neighborhoods and rural sections together.
The area was originally known as Changluliao during the Qing Dynasty and later became Pingzhen City in 1992. Its current form developed in 2014 when the district level was restructured as Taoyuan County became a municipality.
The area preserves Hakka traditions through local markets, temples, and gathering places that shape daily community life. These spaces serve as living meeting points where you can experience the customs and social bonds that tie residents together.
You can reach different parts of the district via national and regional highways plus a network of bus stops. By car or public transit, you can easily move between the various villages and areas throughout the district.
Bazizhen Riverside Park and Xinshi Park provide spaces for local work groups where people practice and pass down traditional farming skills. These parks serve not just as green spaces but as active centers where agricultural traditions remain part of community life.
