Built in 1951 through community effort under the direction of regional executive committee deputy chairman Vasyl Udovytsky, the stadium underwent major renovations in 1980.
The stadium serves as the primary venue for FC Polissya Zhytomyr matches and regional athletic competitions, drawing thousands of local sports enthusiasts.
Located in the center of Zhytomyr, the stadium contains 21,928 seats, with dedicated spaces for media representatives and essential athletic equipment storage.
During winter months in its early years, the football field transformed into an ice skating rink, providing recreational activities for local residents.
