Tsumanska Puscha National Nature Park, National nature park in Volyn Oblast, Ukraine
Tsumanska Puscha National Nature Park is a nature conservation area in southern Polissia featuring pine forests, oak groves, rivers, and lakes distributed across its territory. The landscape combines wooded areas with water systems that support diverse ecosystems.
The territory served as a hunting ground for regional nobility including Prince Vytautas, whose control shaped land use across generations. This patronage and management influenced how the landscape developed over centuries.
Ancient oak trees standing for centuries shape the region's identity, particularly in the village of Horodyshche where locals and visitors recognize them as symbols of continuity. These trees represent a deep-rooted connection between the community and its natural environment.
The park can be reached by train through stations at Tsuman and Olyka or by bus from Lutsk and Rivne. Visitors should plan for walking-based exploration since the area is best experienced on foot along the various trails available.
The wetland area known as Devil's Swamp harbors European bison living in a protected habitat within the park boundaries. This swampy region contains some of the highest concentrations of rare animal and plant species found across the entire reserve.
