Oneilland West, Administrative barony in County Armagh, Northern Ireland.

Oneilland West is a historic barony in County Armagh that stretches along the southern shore of Lough Neagh with a mix of rural landscapes and smaller settlements. The area is connected by regional roads and includes significant towns such as Richhill and portions of Portadown.

The area was divided during the Plantation of Ulster in the 17th century and split into two baronies called Oneilland West and Oneilland East. This division marked a major shift in how the region was administered and governed.

The name comes from the O'Neill Gaelic clan who ruled this region for centuries and shaped its identity. This heritage remains visible in local place names and the way the landscape is organized.

The area is well connected by regional road networks and offers several small settlements and larger towns to explore. The best time to visit is from spring through autumn when the weather is mild and roads are easiest to travel.

A major event in this barony was the Battle of the Diamond in 1795, which directly led to the formation of the Orange Order. This event had lasting effects on the religious and political history of the entire region.
