Albion House, Liverpool, Maritime office building near Pier Head, Liverpool, England
The Albion House stands at the intersection of James Street and The Strand, featuring a facade of white Portland stone and red brick construction.
Built in 1898 as White Star Line headquarters, the building became the center of attention during the 1912 Titanic disaster announcements from its balcony.
The entrance hall contains a large floor mosaic depicting South America, representing the maritime routes of the White Star Line shipping operations.
Located near Liverpool's ferry terminals, the Grade II listed structure now operates as a hotel under the name 30 James Street.
The alternating pattern of red brick and white stone earned the building a local nickname as the streaky bacon building.
