John Paul Jones Cottage Museum, Maritime history museum in Kirkbean, Scotland

The John Paul Jones Cottage Museum contains period furnishings from the 1700s and displays naval artifacts within a white stone building near Solway Firth.

The cottage witnessed the birth of John Paul Jones in 1747, who later became a naval commander and established the United States Navy during the American Revolution.

The museum maintains exhibitions of maritime traditions, naval warfare strategies, and connections between Scottish and American naval forces through detailed presentations.

Visitors can access the museum from April through September, Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday to Sunday, between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with adult tickets at £6.
