Mullach nan Coirean

Mullach nan Coirean is a mountain in the Mamores range that rises to about 940 meters. The peak is characterized by open grassy slopes and a series of steep corries carved into its northern face.

The mountain was settled in ancient times, as evidenced by the remains of a vitrified fort on the northern ridge. This structure was built when people established fortified settlements in the Scottish Highlands.

The name Mullach nan Coirean originates from Scottish Gaelic language, translating to 'summit of the corries' in English.

The mountain can be reached by several hiking routes starting from different trailheads in the area. Conditions are best during dry weather, as the grassy slopes become slippery when wet.

The mountain features three distinct corries on its north face, and each one drains into a different water system. This creates an interesting geological pattern where streams from the same peak flow in different directions.
