Am Basteir

Am Basteir is a summit on the Isle of Skye within the northern Cuillin mountain range, reaching approximately 934 meters in height. A distinctive rock ridge and a prominent cairn mark its peak clearly from surrounding vantage points.

The mountain received its name from Scottish Gaelic, where Bàisteir means the baptizer, preserving a linguistic connection to the island's historical population. The Cuillin range has been inhabited and traversed by local communities for centuries.
