Albert Park, Middlesbrough, Public park in central Middlesbrough, United Kingdom.
Albert Park is a public green space in Middlesbrough with landscaped gardens, a boating lake, and several recreational areas. The grounds also include tennis courts, a roller-skating rink, and fishing at the lake.
The businessman Henry Bolckow bought the land and donated it to the town in 1864. Prince Arthur of Connaught officially opened the park in 1868, making it one of the first large public green spaces in the region.
A bronze statue shows footballer Brian Clough at 24, walking to training with boots over his shoulder. It works as a natural meeting point and reflects how much the town still values his memory.
Marked paths make the park easy to walk through and connect the different areas without getting lost. A free group jogging event takes place every Saturday morning, open to anyone who wants to join.
A listed sundial from 1879 lets visitors read the time in the United Kingdom, New York, and Melbourne all at once. Multi-zone sundials from that period are very rare, making this one an unusual object to come across in a public park.
