Church of SS Peter & Paul, Weston in Gordano

The Church of SS Peter and Paul in Weston-in-Gordano is a stone building with a four-level tower at its southern end and a rectangular nave divided into four sections. The interior features a chancel, a south chapel, and various architectural elements that span different centuries.

The tower and porch were built around 1300, while Sir Richard Percivale funded the remainder of the structure in the 15th century and placed his tomb on the north side. This demonstrates how the building grew over time through the support of influential local families.

The building is named after the two apostles and holds several remarkable objects from different periods that tell stories of faith and craftsmanship. Visitors can see a Norman baptismal font, a stone lectern from the 13th century, and carved wooden seats that may have come from the nearby Portbury Priory.
