Church of St. Mary and All Saints, Bingham, Medieval parish church in Bingham, England
Church of St. Mary and All Saints is a medieval parish building in Bingham with a tower containing eight bells of varying sizes. The tower rises prominently above surrounding structures and features a substantial stone construction typical of parish churches from this era.
The building originated in 1225 as a centre of worship for Bingham residents. Major restoration work undertaken between 1845 and 1846 by architect George Gilbert Scott renewed the structure and preserved it for future use.
The chancel screen displays carved wooden figures from the 15th century that reflect local craftsmanship traditions. These details show how artisans shaped the interior spaces over centuries for the community that worshipped here.
The building is easily reached from Bingham town centre and offers peaceful spaces to visit. Cyclists will find bike racks on site, and visitors can use parking areas located very close by.
One of the bells carries an inscription marking an important naval victory in English history. This recorded message cast into metal demonstrates how the bells captured memories of events beyond just marking time.
