Dobwalls Adventure Park, Family amusement park in Dobwalls, Cornwall, United Kingdom.
Dobwalls Adventure Park was a recreational facility near Liskeard that spread across approximately 22 acres and featured two miniature railway networks, play areas, and outdoor spaces. The site combined rail experiences with an art gallery and various recreational zones for families.
The park was founded in 1970 by John Southern and became one of Cornwall's main tourist attractions over three decades. The facility closed in 2006 after attracting visitors with its miniature railways and recreational offerings for many years.
The park celebrated American railroad heritage through authentic replicas of famous routes like the Rio Grande Cumbres Pass and Union Pacific Sherman Hill. Visitors experienced the atmosphere of American railway history while walking past miniature stations and vintage-style buildings throughout the grounds.
The miniature railway lines operated from April through October, carrying passengers through forested areas during the warmer months. The art gallery remained open year-round and provided an indoor activity option when weather was poor.
One of the railway lines, the Rio Grande route, included a section with a 1:25 gradient that was the steepest climb for any passenger-carrying miniature railway. This engineering achievement made the route notable for railroad enthusiasts from around the world.
