The medieval stone church features Gothic Revival architecture with a prominent tower, intricate carvings, and stained glass windows depicting biblical narratives.
Founded in 1342 as the first collegiate church in the Lothians, the building underwent substantial reconstruction in 1779 and again between 1819 and 1821.
The church houses a memorial monument dedicated to George Home, the First Earl of Dunbar, who served as High Treasurer of Scotland.
Regular religious services and community events take place in the church, which maintains its role as an active parish church in East Lothian.
The church survived the Protestant Reformation of 1560 intact, unlike many other religious structures in Scotland during that period.
