Dunbar, Victoria Street, Lauderdale House, Category A listed building and former military base in Dunbar, Scotland.

Lauderdale House sits at the end of High Street with a semicircular porch supported by four Ionic columns and two flanking pavilions. The protected structure combines residential elements from its origins with spaces that reflect its years of military use.

The building was originally built in 1855 as a private residence for Captain James Fall. It later became a military headquarters during both World Wars and served in that role until the barracks closed in the 1950s.

The building shows the work of Robert Adam and his brother James, who added Georgian details and decorative features to the central section. These design choices shape how visitors experience and perceive the place today.

The building is accessible only from the outside since it now contains residential flats. The best views of the impressive facade and columns can be seen from High Street.

A sphinx decoration adorns the southern side of the building and represents an unusual architectural element for Scottish military structures. This unexpected ornament hints at the building's original purpose as a wealthy private residence.
