Electric Railway Museum, Railway museum in Baginton, Warwickshire, England.
The Electric Railway Museum in Baginton was a railway museum that focused on preserved electric multiple units and industrial locomotives. The collection was housed near Coventry Airport and displayed a wide range of operational and static exhibits.
The museum was founded in 1986 as Coventry Steam Railway Centre and switched to the Suburban Electric Railway Association in the late 1990s. It became the Electric Railway Museum in 2009 before closing in 2017 due to site development.
The museum worked with the Warwickshire Art and Craft Circle to host monthly events that brought together railway heritage and local handmade crafts. Visitors could see artisans demonstrate their skills alongside displays of preserved trains.
The museum was located on Rowley Road near Coventry Airport and offered free admission with free parking. Visitors should note that the site has been closed since October 2017 and is no longer accessible for visits.
The museum housed the largest collection of preserved electric multiple units in the United Kingdom. Among its holdings were the last surviving examples of several historic train classes found nowhere else in the country.
