Fingask Castle, Category B listed castle in Kilspindie, Scotland
Fingask Castle is a Category B listed stone fortress in Kilspindie, Scotland, sitting on elevated ground roughly 60 meters (200 feet) above Rait. From its position, it commands views across the flat Carse of Gowrie toward the Firth of Tay and into the distant landscape of Fife.
The castle grounds first appeared in records around 1114 as part of the Foundation Charter of Scone Abbey. By the 15th century, it had become a residence of the Bruce family, establishing its role in regional affairs.
The Fingask Follies musical revue brings five singers and a pianist to perform new thematic shows each year at the castle. This annual event shapes the cultural life of the grounds and reflects how the property today serves as a venue for live performance.
The estate offers four self-catering cottages named Beech Tree, Sycamore, Redwood, and Rowan, housing groups of four to seven people on the grounds. Visitors should plan ahead since these accommodations are specialized with limited availability.
The castle garden features large topiary designs with stone globes and literary figures, linked by a long yew avenue called the King's Walk. This distinctive garden layout becomes apparent as visitors walk the grounds and shapes their experience.
