Jumbles Country Park, Nature park in Bradshaw, England
Jumbles Country Park is a nature reserve in the Bradshaw Valley with open fields, woodland areas, and a reservoir at its center. Multiple paths run through the land, offering routes for different activities and levels of walking experience.
The park was established in 1971 when a reservoir was built to supply drinking water to surrounding communities. This water project laid the foundation for what later became a regional green space initiative.
The name comes from an old English word describing hilly terrain, and local people value it as a central place for outdoor activity and nature watching. Families and walkers have made it part of their routine for gathering in open green space.
Parking areas and basic facilities including a cafe and information center are available near the main entrance. Most paths are flat or gently sloped and easy to walk or cycle, with some sections designed for wheelchair access.
The Ousel Nest Meadows section attracts rare bird species such as jays, sparrowhawks, and kestrels, making it a noteworthy spot for bird watchers to observe wildlife. Foxes and roe deer also roam the area, creating unexpected encounters with animals.
