Lecht Ski Centre, Ski resort in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The Lecht Ski Centre is a ski resort in Aberdeenshire featuring 23 groomed slopes at elevations around 640 meters (2,090 feet). The mountain operates 14 lifts across the terrain, including one triple chairlift and 13 surface lifts to serve skiers and snowboarders of different ability levels.
Operations began in the 1970s as a modest portable ski tow positioned near Allargue Arms Hotel in the remote Scottish Highlands. This small beginning gradually evolved into the present-day facility offering a complete mountain resort experience.
The Penguin Park introduces young visitors aged 2 to 8 to winter sports with specially designed equipment and dedicated teaching zones. This family-focused space has become central to how the resort serves its youngest guests learning to ski and snowboard.
Visitors can rent equipment on-site and purchase lift passes for access to the mountain terrain and its various slopes. The resort spans a range of elevations, so it helps to wear layers and be prepared for quick weather changes typical of mountain environments.
A SnowFactory system produces artificial snow to keep beginner slopes open and usable even when natural snowfall is limited. This snow-making technology gives the resort more consistent conditions for lessons and beginner practice throughout the season.
