Maryvale Institute, Catholic college and Grade II* listed building in Old Oscott, Birmingham, England.

Maryvale Institute is housed in a three-storey red brick building featuring symmetrical design and classical proportions, with an external colonnade linking its different sections. The structure combines traditional architectural elements throughout its interconnected spaces.

The oldest section of the building dates to 1752, constructed for Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Hornyhold. A chapel was added in 1778, expanding the original structure.

The Sacred Heart Chapel features stained glass windows by Eginton, a prominent local artisan from Birmingham. These works reflect the skilled craftsmanship and artistic traditions of the period.

The institute sits in Old Oscott and continues to maintain its historical architecture while housing theological education and training programs. Visitors can explore the structure and chapel, which remain accessible for viewing.

From 1794 to 1834, this building served as the Catholic Seminary of the Midlands, playing a key role in regional religious training. That history shaped its lasting significance for the local Catholic community.
