Mynydd Tarw

Mynydd Tarw is a mountain summit in the northern Berwyn range rising to about 679 meters, marked by a substantial cairn at its peak. The location sits within a larger chain of interconnected hills with numerous established walking routes crossing the area.

The summit was previously classified as two separate peaks in the official British mountain listings but was later reclassified as a single peak. This change reflects how mountain classification standards have evolved and been refined over time.

The Welsh name means 'Mountain of the Bull' and reflects how geographical features in this region are traditionally named after animals or natural elements. Such naming practices tell stories about what people once saw or valued in the landscape around them.
