Moorfoot Building, Office building in Sheffield, England
The Moorfoot Building features a step pyramid design with three wings and rises eleven floors at the foot of The Moor shopping street.
Opening in 1981, the structure served as the headquarters for the Manpower Services Commission, coordinating employment and training services across the United Kingdom.
The building marked a transition in Sheffield's architectural landscape, introducing brutalist design elements with red brick bands and concrete panels into the city center.
The structure contains office spaces for 2,600 employees, meeting rooms, and connects directly to Sheffield's inner ring road for transportation access.
An intended public walkway through the building, featuring a tunnel and elevated ramp system, remains permanently closed due to security considerations.
