Velocity Tower, High-rise building on Inner Ring Road, Sheffield, England.
Velocity Tower is a high-rise residential building in Sheffield city center featuring a glass facade and a distinctive west-facing wing design. The structure contains 22 completed residential floors with views across the city skyline.
The project originated from an earlier proposal called Eclipse which originally planned a 22-story brick tower with 263 apartments. The redesign transformed the concept into the current glass-clad structure with modified specifications.
The building represents a shift in Sheffield's urban development, introducing contemporary residential spaces in the traditional industrial city center.
The building sits in a well-connected location within Sheffield city center and is easily accessible via local transport links. The site offers direct access to surrounding streets and nearby amenities.
The rooftop incorporates a wind turbine array that generates renewable energy as part of the building's design philosophy. This approach demonstrates how residential towers can integrate sustainable power solutions.
