Oddicombe Beach

Oddicombe Beach is a red sand beach in Babbacombe that lies beneath towering breccia cliffs along the Devon coast. The setting creates a natural frame for water activities and sea views across the bay.

The Babbacombe Cliff Railway was built in the early 1900s and has transported visitors from the clifftop to the beach ever since. This railway shaped how the location developed and remains central to how people reach the shore.

The beach has held Blue Flag status continuously since 1987, marking its place among England's cleanest and safest swimming locations. Visitors notice this reputation reflected in the well-kept surroundings and clear water.
