Sheffield Bioincubator, Research facility in Sheffield, England
The Sheffield Bioincubator houses advanced laboratories and office spaces across five floors connected by an elevator system in a 35-meter tall structure.
The facility opened in February 2006 through funding from the European Regional Development Fund, University of Sheffield, and Yorkshire Forward organizations.
The building transformed from a commercial innovation center into an educational space, now containing the Modern Languages Teaching Centre and Department of Archaeology.
The facility maintains connections with the Kroto Innovation Centre, enabling research partnerships between the University of Sheffield and regional enterprises.
Scientists at this location developed electrical impedance spectroscopy methods for oral cancer detection through collaboration with Zilico and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
