Salford Civic Centre, Neoclassical town hall in Swinton, England
The Salford Civic Centre features a prominent clock tower rising 125 feet high with 9-foot-diameter clock faces on each side.
Architects Percy Thomas and Ernest Prestwich won a national competition to design the building, which opened on September 17, 1938, costing £80,000.
The building serves as the administrative headquarters of Salford City Council, hosting regular civic meetings and community gatherings throughout the year.
The East Wing functions as a register office for marriages and civil partnerships, providing essential administrative services to local residents.
A glass-walled computer center was established southeast of the building in 1973, marking early adoption of technology in municipal administration.
