St Luke's Church, Silverhill, United Reformed Church in Silverhill, England
St Luke's Church features stone construction with lancet windows, representing Early English Gothic architecture along Sedlescombe Road North in Hastings.
The construction of St Luke's Church began in 1857 under architect Henry Carpenter, marking an early establishment of Presbyterian worship in southeast England.
Initially founded as an Independent Chapel by William Boyd, the church transformed into a Presbyterian congregation and later joined the United Reformed Church in 1972.
The church building serves local residents through regular worship services, community meetings, and charitable activities in the Silverhill district of Hastings.
The Great Storm of 1987 caused substantial damage to the building, resulting in the removal of its original spire during subsequent repairs.
