St Twrog's Church, Bodwrog, Medieval church in Bodwrog, Wales

St Twrog's Church is a medieval parish building in Bodwrog featuring original 15th-century doorways and windows built from rubble stone with mullioned details. The structure stretches approximately 46 feet and is topped with slate, with the east side showing a window of three tall sections combined with eight smaller lights.

The church originated in the 15th century as a rural place of worship and later became part of a larger pastoral organization. It received Grade II* listed status in 1971, officially recognizing the historical value of its medieval construction.

The church displays decorative details connected to local families, such as carved doors featuring leaf patterns and bull head motifs. These ornaments reflect the ties between the building and the people who shaped the region.

The church remains in active use with regular services, so visitors should check ahead for service times before visiting. The surrounding churchyard is accessible for quiet exploration and offers a peaceful setting to walk among the historic grounds.

The churchyard shelters ancient yew trees, some over 1300 years in age. Their wood was historically harvested to craft military bows, making these trees a living link to medieval warfare practices.
