The Church of the Sacred Heart and St Catherine of Alexandria features extensive interior mosaics covering walls and ceilings throughout the building's structure.
Walter Loveridge Hodgkinson funded the construction of this religious edifice during the early twentieth century as a memorial to his wife Catherine.
The interior mosaics, designed by Gabriel Pippet and executed by Maurice Josey, incorporate eight tons of Venetian glass imported specifically for this project.
Located on Worcester Road in Droitwich Spa, the church holds regular services on weekdays at 9:15 AM and multiple masses on Sundays.
The mosaic designs drew direct inspiration from Italian churches, as Pippet traveled to Ravenna and Rome to study ancient techniques before creating his patterns.
