Tulloch Castle, Tower house in Dingwall, Scotland
Tulloch Castle is a tower house near Dingwall in Scotland, featuring thick stone walls, narrow windows, and multiple floors built in the style of Scottish defensive architecture. Its structure follows the typical layout of a medieval residential tower with rooms distributed across different levels.
It was built in the late 14th century and later served as a hospital for Dunkirk evacuees in 1940. The building was subsequently converted into a hostel run by the education authority.
The castle maintains ties to Clan Davidson, who held their official gathering here in 2007, keeping their Scottish clan customs alive within these walls.
Today it operates as a hotel and conference center, providing lodging and event spaces. Visitors can access the historical features and arrangements can be made for overnight stays.
In 1996, during renovations, the MacAulay family transformed the deteriorating structure into a functioning hotel. The work successfully preserved its medieval character while bringing the building back to life.
