Toxteth Park Cemetery, Grade II listed cemetery in Liverpool, England
Toxteth Park Cemetery extends across Smithdown Road with paved pathways, chapels, gatehouses, and numerous memorials featuring diverse architectural styles and designs.
The cemetery opened its gates in June 1856 under the management of Toxteth Park Burial Board, with Elizabeth Watling recorded as the first burial on June 17.
The grounds contain 274 Commonwealth service personnel graves from World War I and World War II, representing local military contributions and sacrifices.
The cemetery records, including burial registers and order books, are available for research on microfilm at the Liverpool Record Office.
The restored grave of John Hulley, founder of Liverpool Gymnasium and National Olympian Association, stands as a testament to local Olympic history.
