Wormleybury, Grade I listed manor house in Wormley, England

The neo-classical brick building features a stone portico with six columns and stands within a 57-hectare landscaped park near Greater London.

King Harold bestowed the manor of Wormley Bury upon Waltham Abbey, which retained ownership until the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 1530s.

Robert Adam enhanced the interior between 1777 and 1779, incorporating decorative mantlepieces and artistic panels depicting landscapes and classical themes.

The Grade I listed building has been converted into residential flats, while the Grade II listed park maintains its historical landscaping features.

Lady Amelia Hume introduced numerous exotic plant species from India and the Far East, including the first white pomegranate in England in 1796.
