Kilgraston School

Kilgraston School was a private girls' boarding school housed in a former mansion south of Perth, featuring modern facilities such as an indoor swimming pool and an equestrian center. The institution educated children and teenagers from about five to eighteen years old in a structured academic setting.

The Society of the Sacred Heart established the school in 1930 within a mansion previously used as a hospital during World War I. Since its founding, it provided Catholic education to girls in Scotland.

The school belonged to a worldwide network of Sacred Heart institutions and provided girls with a Catholic community centered on exchange programs and shared values. This international connection shaped daily life and attracted families from many countries.

The boarding school was situated on spacious grounds with multiple buildings and sports facilities in the countryside south of Perth. Visitors should note that the institution closed in 2024 and now serves as a historical location of interest.

Within four days, parents and supporters pledged 1.2 million pounds to prevent closure. Despite this rescue effort, the school ultimately closed in 2024 due to financial difficulties.
