Yester House

Yester House is a grand mansion in East Lothian spanning over 34,000 square feet, featuring elegantly designed interior spaces. Architects Robert and William Adam created a remarkable salon that showcases the craftsmanship of the period.

Construction began in 1699 for the Hay family, who held the title of Marquesses of Tweeddale until 1967. The estate remained under their stewardship for more than two centuries, serving as a seat of power and influence.

The grand ballroom drew Italian composer Gian Carlo Menotti to purchase the property in 1972, attracted by its exceptional acoustics. The space reflects the musical passion that shaped the house's character.
