Yester House, Category A listed mansion in East Lothian, Scotland

The mansion spans over 34,000 square feet of floor space and features a salon designed by architects Robert and William Adam.

The construction of Yester House started in 1699 for the Hay family, who held the title of Marquesses of Tweeddale until 1967.

The grand ballroom with exceptional acoustics attracted Italian composer Gian Carlo Menotti to purchase the property in 1972.

The mansion underwent extensive restoration work, including ceiling, cornicing, and fireplace conservation performed by specialized decorators from Edinburgh.

Professional golfer Lee Trevino resided at Yester House during his victory at the 1972 Open Golf Championship.
