Parsloes Park, Municipal park in Dagenham, United Kingdom
Parsloes Park is a large green space in Dagenham that spreads across hundreds of acres with walking paths, an ornamental lake, and varied recreational zones. The park contains sports fields, tennis courts, basketball facilities, and play areas for children.
The Passelewe family owned this land from the 1300s until the London County Council purchased it in 1923. It opened to the public in 1935 as part of the development of the Becontree housing estate.
The park takes its name from the Passelewe family, who owned the land in the 1300s and left their mark on the local area. Images of their original house are displayed at Valence House Museum.
The park is easy to navigate with multiple entrances and clearly defined activity zones for different interests. Visitors can spend anywhere from an hour for a quick walk to several hours exploring all the facilities.
The Bobby Moore Sports Hub opened in 2024 with new grass pitches, synthetic courts, and a gym, named after the famous football player from the area. This addition brought modern sports facilities to complement the historic park.
