The Liverpool2 terminal stretches along 854 meters of quay wall with a water depth of 16.5 meters for large container vessels.
The terminal construction started in 2013 and required 329 steel pilings weighing 47 tonnes each to create the foundation structure.
The terminal opening ceremony in 2016 brought together local figures including football legends Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Kenny Dalglish.
The facility operates with five Megamax ship-to-shore cranes and multiple rail-mounted gantry cranes for efficient container handling operations.
The terminal processed its largest container movement in 2020 when the MSC Tamara discharged 5,956 TEUs in a single operation.
