Church of St Teresa of Avila, Birkdale, Gothic Revival church in Birkdale, England
The Church of St Teresa of Avila features pointed arches, red brick construction with red sandstone dressings, and a cruciform plan with narrow nave and transepts.
Built in 1897-1898 by architects James Sinnott, Bernard Sinnott, and Daniel Powell, the church emerged as an extension of St Joseph's Church in Birkdale.
The interior displays stained glass windows by Earley and Company depicting English martyrs and saints, complemented by additional works from Hardman Studios.
The church maintains regular Catholic masses throughout the week, with a connected presbytery on its north side providing accommodation for clergy members.
The sanctuary contains carved angels and Latin inscription 'Ecce Panis Angelorum' above the high altar, while the south transept houses a reredos with Saint Teresa.
