Alpine Meadow is a protected nature reserve near Berkhamsted with meadow and woodland areas. The site features steeply sloping chalk grassland with several grass species that are typical of this habitat.
The site received official protection status as a biological reserve in 1987. This recognition highlighted its ecological importance for the Hertfordshire region.
The meadow is one of the last examples of unimproved chalk grassland in the area. The grasses and plants here grow in a way that has become uncommon in the region.
The site is accessible by footpath from Bridle Way. Parking is available near Bridgewater School in Berkhamsted.
The reserve is home to multiple orchid species and the Duke of Burgundy butterfly. Woodpeckers and finches also nest and feed in this small protected area.
