Holy Trinity Church, Wentworth, Gothic revival church in Wentworth, England
The Holy Trinity Church features a soaring spire, intricate stone carvings, and large stained glass windows created by Clayton and Bell in 1888.
William Wentworth-Fitzwilliam, 6th Earl Fitzwilliam, commissioned architect John Loughborough Pearson to build this church between 1872 and 1876 as a memorial to his parents.
The church maintains its original Henry Willis pipe organ from 1877, which received professional restoration work by Chalmers and Hyde in 1981.
This Grade II* listed building accommodates 650 people and continues to hold regular services under the administration of the Diocese of Sheffield.
The church replaced an older Holy Trinity building, which now stands partly in ruins nearby, creating an architectural timeline of religious structures in Wentworth.
