Old Holy Trinity Church, Wentworth, Medieval church in Wentworth, England
The Old Holy Trinity Church displays English Gothic architectural elements with pointed arches, stone masonry, and an elevated bell tower structure.
The church began as a 15th-century place of worship before its transformation into a mausoleum in 1877 when the new Holy Trinity Church opened.
The chancel contains alabaster effigies and stone memorials from the 16th and 17th centuries, commemorating members of the influential Wentworth family.
The building welcomes visitors on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 AM and 4 PM, with parking spaces available along the road outside.
The churchyard contains the grave of Chow Kwang Tseay, brought from China to Rotherham in 1847, marking an unexpected connection between Yorkshire and East Asia.
