Architect David Evelyn Nye designed this entertainment venue in 1937, which later transformed from a theatre into the ABC cinema during 1953.
The venue marked its place in music history by hosting performances from The Beatles in 1962 and 1963, followed by Genesis and Roxy Music.
The structure now operates as part of the Edwards bar chain since 1996, offering a space for various social gatherings and entertainment events.
This building represents the only theatrical design in the portfolio of David Evelyn Nye, who specialized primarily in cinema architecture.
