Oxford Island spans 282 acres of diverse habitats including wet meadows, reedbeds, woodlands, and shoreline scrub along the southeastern shore of Lough Neagh.
The water level reduction of Lough Neagh in 1846 transformed Oxford Island from an actual island into a peninsula connected to the mainland.
The Lough Neagh Discovery Centre presents exhibitions and educational programs about the local environment, wildlife, and regional heritage through interactive displays.
Visitors can access five miles of walking paths, multiple bird watching hides, a cafe, and the Kinnego Marina with 190 boat berths.
The reserve maintains its grasslands through grazing by traditional Irish Moiled and Dexter cattle, supporting natural biodiversity management.
