Baraboo

Baraboo is the county seat of Sauk County, Wisconsin, situated along the Baraboo River and framed by wooded hills. The city spreads through a valley with parks and green spaces that define its layout.

The settlement began in 1838 as Adams and later took its name from the nearby river. It became an incorporated city in 1882 and grew as an administrative center.

The Circus World Museum preserves the legacy of the Ringling Brothers Circus, which made this place its winter home. You can see how the circus shaped the town through its buildings and collections.

The city is walkable and has several public parks that are easy to access and explore. The main attraction, the Circus World Museum, is conveniently located and accessible from the downtown area.

The Badger Ordnance Works operated nearby during World War II as one of the world's largest munitions factories. This industrial site left a lasting mark on the region's economy and development.
