Built in 1876 for $20,000 by industrialist Abram Gaar, the residence served as the home of the Gaar family who manufactured steam engines and threshing machines.
The interior displays Victorian decorative arts and Eastlake style furnishings acquired from the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, with original bills of sale.
The museum offers guided tours by appointment, with admission prices of $10 for adults and $5 for children, while children under three enter free.
Original architectural plans drawn on linen sheets by John A. Hasecoster remain preserved within the house, documenting 19th-century design techniques.
