Annie Oakley House, Historic residence in Cambridge, Maryland.

Annie Oakley House is a brick-and-frame bungalow built in Colonial Revival style with one and a half stories that overlooks Hambrooks Bay on the Choptank River. The property sits on 1.5 acres and includes a garage with a separate studio apartment located behind the main residence.

This house was built in 1913 as a retirement home for sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her husband Frank Butler after their decades-long career performing with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. The construction marks the end of their time on stage and the start of a new chapter away from public performance.

This house shows how a famous performer from the stage chose to build a quiet life on the Eastern Shore. It marks the meeting point between frontier entertainment and local living, revealing a different chapter in the life of someone known for public spectacle.

The house is located on Bellevue Avenue in Cambridge and sits near the water where you can walk and explore the surroundings. The waterfront location makes it easy to appreciate the setting and the views of the Choptank River that the property offers.

The house includes custom built-in shelves designed specifically to display shooting trophies and awards. An upper-level deck was purposefully built for practicing marksmanship on birds, showing how the owners continued their passion even in their private life.
