Swedish Lutheran immigrants constructed the church in 1899, and it received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in December 1988.
The congregation maintained Swedish as the primary language for religious services until 1925, reflecting the strong connection to their European heritage.
The building received substantial improvements in 1911, including a full basement, coal furnace installation, and the addition of a pipe organ.
William Carlson directed the construction of this religious structure, which stands on less than one acre of land in Brown County.
