Emig Mansion

Emig Mansion is a Georgian-style brick residence measuring 66 feet (20 meters) long by 30 feet (9 meters) wide with five bays on its facade. The structure features a slate-covered gable roof and Doric columns that give it classical proportions.

Built around 1810, this mansion received a major addition with an extended wing in 1885. Early in the 1900s, bay windows were added to update its appearance.

Guest rooms are named after children of the original Emig family who lived here during the 1800s, creating a personal connection to the household's past. This naming choice helps visitors feel connected to the people who once inhabited these spaces.

The property operates as a bed and breakfast at 3342 N. George Street, offering guest accommodations and spaces for events and gatherings. The grounds span several acres, providing plenty of room to walk around and explore the setting.

A semi-circular porch on the south side of the building is an architectural detail that sets it apart from typical Georgian homes of the era. This curved element adds a distinctive touch to the rear facade.
