Falls Park on the Reedy, Public park in downtown Greenville, United States.
Falls Park on the Reedy covers around 13 hectares in the middle of downtown and includes paved paths, lawns, and natural rock formations where water drops in several stages. A curved pedestrian bridge made of concrete and steel spans the river just above the main cascade, connecting both banks without supports in the water.
The city removed a four-lane road bridge in 2004 that had crossed the waterfall since the 1960s, blocking much of it from view. The redesign exposed the natural rock formations and cascades, creating new pathways along both banks.
The riverside park and its bridge structure carry a name recalling early settlers who moved westward along the Reedy River. Today, city residents jog along the cascades in the morning, while others sit on the lawns by the water and listen to the sound.
Access is open daily from 6 in the morning until midnight, and entry costs nothing. Street parking in the surrounding blocks allows two hours without charge, but arriving early helps if you want a spot nearby on weekends.
Below the bridge, you can spot the old concrete foundations of the former road bridge at low water, rising from the riverbed like large steps. On warm afternoons, some visitors climb over the rocks right up to the lowest cascade.
