Built in 1915 for J. Harrington Walker of Hiram Walker & Sons, this Albert Kahn-designed building originally contained 32 large luxury apartments.
The building represents the shift in Detroit's urban living patterns during the automotive industry boom, when apartment complexes attracted middle-class residents.
The property underwent renovations in 2008, converting the original apartments into 65 modern one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominium units.
J. Harrington Walker, who commissioned the building, chose to live in the top floor of the south tower while residing across the street.
