Greystone, Historic residence in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Greystone is a two-and-a-half-story mansion in Knoxville with a striking three-story tower at the front. The exterior walls are built from stones quarried at Rocky Top and showcase Richardsonian Romanesque design elements throughout.
Construction began in 1885 under Major Eldad Cicero Camp's direction, with architect Alfred B. Mullett designing the structure in Richardsonian Romanesque style. The building was later converted to house WATE-TV studios following a major renovation in 1965.
The interior displays different wood paneling in each room, along with hand-carved mantels from France and stained glass panels adorning window heads.
The building houses business offices and is not open for public tours since it operates as a working facility. The exterior can be appreciated from the street, offering a good view of the distinctive architecture and the prominent tower.
