The estate, completed in 1916, belonged to textile industrialist Fuller Callaway and incorporated the existing Ferrell Gardens, which date back to 1832.

The interior design includes a double staircase, stone fireplaces, and a palm room with vaulted ceilings that reflect early 20th-century American architectural preferences.

Tours operate Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with adult admission at 25 dollars including access to both house and gardens.

The gardens incorporate religious symbols within their design, established by Sarah Ferrell in 1841 when she transformed cotton fields into formal garden spaces.
